Staff Accountant (Full-time)
The Staff Accountant is responsible for:
Qualifications: This person must have solid accounting knowledge, with a B.S. in Accounting, along with 1-2 years of experience. This person must be proficient in Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Access, etc.), the Internet and experience with the non-profit software package, Blackbaud, would be a plus. In addition, this person must be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks well and work with various managers. Organizational skills, self-motivation and a positive attitude are key to this role.

Bi-Weekly processing of payroll, including administration of time records of staff (including interns) and the proper processing of new hires and terminations.
Monthly financial closing process, including preparation of entries and posting to the general ledger Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including cash accounts Monthly analysis of certain accounts, both repetitive reconciliations (i.e. development versus accounting revenue) and those requested by the CFO Monthly preparation of financial reporting packages to be distributed to senior staff Coordination with the accounting assistant to ensure that accounts payable and cash receipts are processed correctly. Preparation of grant reporting requirements Preparation of reports for staff compensation matters, along with health care and flexible spending record keeping Assist in the annual audit process and tax information gathering process. Special projects as requested by the CFO

The institution collects materials that relate to the life and times of John F. Kennedy, the 35th U.S. President. This includes the collections (textual documents, audiovisual items, and museum artifacts) of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose Kennedy, as well as over 600 other collections including Kennedy family members, authors, politicians, and individuals and organizations who worked for, with, or because of John F. Kennedy. The John F. Kennedy Library also houses the Ernest Hemingway Collection and John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy Oral History Programs.
